Antigua State College—a year of newfound freedom, a venture I eagerly embraced. Once again, I found myself evolving in the realm of art, surrounded by like-minded, brilliantly talented souls. (Age 17-19)

It was a space where I could truly thrive—a new reality, a symphony of moments, each note painting a part of my journey. I learned new mediums, techniques and obtained courage.

This piece is a metaphor for the delicate balance of existence. My poetry weaves through the piece, reflecting on the struggles of being an artist and living with the complexities of my life at the time. It’s a visual embodiment of the tension between creation and self, an exploration of the weight of both.

Created on 18x24 inch watercolor paper with chalk pastels and 18x24 canvas with acrylic paint and marker.
