Platts
So much to say about Plattsburgh—I’ve lived here for over seven years, on my own. It was liberating, exhilarating, and the place where I realized that art was more than just a passion; it was a force within me, waiting to be unleashed. It was here that my creativity came alive, filling me with both gratitude and intimidation. (Age 19-26)
This piece depicts two versions of myself—one coping with the virus, and the other grappling with my inability to create. It captures my struggle to understand why I couldn't break free from the disarray within.
Created on two 18x24 inch canvases, with oil paint.
Living in a town so different from where I grew up was a drastic change. Plattsburgh itself was full of shifts—like navigating through the chaos of COVID—and learning, once again, how to avoid self-destruction.
